Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

In short: we use your CV and career profile to find roles and prepare applications you approve. Anything optional is opt-in and reversible — email monitoring, connected accounts, and your public Trust Signal page all require your consent and can be revoked anytime. We never sell your data, and our integrity gate blocks claims it can't trace to your real profile.

Your career data is some of the most personal data there is. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the control you keep over it.

We built RelayJob around trust — and that starts with being straight about your data.

1. Who we are

RelayJob ("RelayJob", "we", "us") provides an AI Career Agent that helps you discover jobs, build genuine applications, and track your interviews. For the personal data described here, RelayJob is the data controller. You can reach us at privacy@relayjob.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

  • Account data: your name, email, and authentication details when you sign up.
  • Career profile & CV: the CV you upload and the structured profile we build from it — work history, skills, languages, education, desired roles, locations and salary expectations, and any proof points you add.
  • Application data: the applications your agent prepares, the jobs you swipe on, cover letters, generated CVs, screening answers, and their status.
  • Usage & device data: pages visited, features used, and basic device/browser information, collected to operate, secure and improve the product.
  • Payment data: handled by our payments provider (Paddle) as Merchant of Record — we do not store your full card details.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the service: parse your CV, score job matches, and generate genuine, evidence-backed applications you review and approve.
  • To submit applications you approve to the relevant employer or applicant-tracking system.
  • To process subscriptions, billing and trials, and to send you service and account emails.
  • To secure the platform, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
  • To understand usage and improve the product (in aggregate wherever possible).

4. Connected accounts & email monitoring (optional)

Some features are off by default and only run with your explicit consent. If you connect an account (such as a job board or email inbox), you authorise us to access the specific data needed for that feature — for example, monitoring your inbox to detect interview invitations and application replies so we can track outcomes for you.

These connections are opt-in and revocable: you can disconnect an account or turn off email monitoring at any time in your settings, and we stop accessing that data. We only read what the feature needs, and we never use it to send mail as you without your action.

5. Your Trust Signal page (opt-in & revocable)

The Trust Signal page is a public, shareable page that lets recruiters verify your proof points. It is published only if you choose to turn it on. You control what it shows, you can unpublish it at any time, and revoking it removes public access.

7. AI processing of your content

To generate matches, CVs, cover letters and research artifacts, we send relevant parts of your profile and the job posting to our AI providers (including OpenAI) via their APIs. We use these providers under terms that do not permit your data to be used to train their general models.

Our integrity gate cross-checks every generated claim against your real profile and blocks anything it can't trace — RelayJob never knowingly creates false statements about you. We do not sell your personal data.

8. Sharing & subprocessors

We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, to deliver the product:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and file storage (EU region).
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
  • OpenAI — AI generation and parsing (via API).
  • Browserbase — secure browser sessions used to assist with submitting applications you approve.
  • Paddle — payments and subscription management (Merchant of Record).
  • Resend — transactional and digest email.
  • PostHog — product analytics; Sentry — error monitoring.
  • Employers and their applicant-tracking systems — only the application content you explicitly approve.

9. International transfers

Some providers (such as OpenAI) process data outside the EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (e.g. billing) to meet legal obligations.

11. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, row-level security isolating each user's data, scoped access controls, and least-privilege service credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but security is a first-class requirement, not an afterthought.

12. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise most of these directly in your profile and settings, or by emailing privacy@relayjob.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

13. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and optional analytics cookies to improve the product. See our Cookie Policy for details and how to control them.

14. Children

RelayJob is intended for adults in the workforce and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
